Fed Signaling Future US Interest Rate Cuts - Gold to benefit

In a series of public messages, the US Federal Reserve has issued some statements recently which telegraph an increasingly likely official interest rate cut. These guys will cut rates, but only when kicking and screaming, since they have displayed extreme reluctance at every opportunity.

They know the damage to the US Dollar certain to follow. They speak through their usual mouthpieces, but this time with the added impact of Sir Alan Greenspan, serial bubble engineer extraordinaire. One must connect the dots, a task now routine among my methods, putting to practice the motto “think like a thief" in order to properly gauge the enemy. Why? Because the integrity of the US financial system, economic management, and leadership is as low as a snake's belly slithering in the grass.

Business Mission to India Produces Early Results for the Detroit ...

Detroit - Detroit - Two Detroit-area businesses, currently traveling in India on a joint economic-development mission with the Detroit Regional Economic Partnership and Oakland County, announced today new strategic alliance agreements with Indian companies to grow their presence in India. In addition, an Indian company will be opening an office in Southeast Michigan.

The 10-person delegation is visiting India from March 21 to April 1 to promote the Detroit Region as an excellent business location, identify Indian companies to expand to the U.S. and find business opportunities for Southeast Michigan companies looking to expand into the Indian market.

Stonebridge Business Partners, which established offices in Pune and Delhi during a similar mission with the Detroit Regional Economic Partnership last year, will be expanding its presence in India by partnering with Indian-based CPQP Consultants. The two companies will provide lean manufacturing consulting services for Indian companies looking to expand globally.

Ayoon wa Azan ( Before Meeting Him )

The April 12, 2007, issue of the magazine the 'New York Review of Books' contains an article entitled "On Israel, America and AIPAC", by George Soros, the world-known businessman. It begins with an accurate and objective analysis of the Palestinian situation, the national unity government and the Arab initiative for peace with Israel. It continues to review the extremism of the official US-Jewish lobby and its dominance of the US policy in the Middle East, with all the harms this has caused to the objective of Middle East peace, and Israel's own interests.

I had heard of Georges Soros before meeting him. While the world of economics did not concern me in the least, I have become interested in his activities because some of his political stances and charity activities. Then I followed up on his participation in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, and I found that he was as I had heard about him, or even better.

Loss of JOBZ program could hinder local development efforts

A state economic development program for rural Minnesota, which has helped nine businesses relocate or expand in Fergus Falls, could be eliminated unless a bill presented by Rep. Bud Nornes (R-Fergus Falls) is approved by the legislature.

Senate Tax Committee Chair Sen. Thomas Bakk, DFL-Cook, proposed allowing no new projects under the program after May, which prompted Nornes to introduce legislation to extend the program for 10 years.

“It would be like pulling the rug out from prospective businesses," Nornes said.

The loss of JOBZ could mean some loss of economic development in the area, Economic Improvement Commission Director Harold Stanislawski said. Locally, the program has helped nine companies relocate to Fergus Falls or expand operations.

Examples include the Otter Tail Ag ethanol plant being built in Fergus Falls; ACS, which relocated here in August; and existing industry that expanded, such as Vinylite, Vinco, ShoreMaster and Innova Industries.

The Global Impact of Taiwan's Future

Much has been discussed about China and its growing power. The awakening dragon, the poised-to-be super nation, the astonishing economic growth rate, and the laughable human rights records -- all these aspects have been receiving extensive attention. However, what could be the most important factor in the future of China, or even the world, is mainly neglected: the Taiwan issue.

East Asia has played a key role in globalization, thanks to its rapid economic development. Five of the world's top 20 economies are East Asian nations. Yet it is far from the peaceful region one would like to see. Japan, the second largest economy in the world, has been a historical rival of China, the third largest economy. Both are thirsty for energy resources, and efforts of the two governments to ease hostilities remaining from World War II can be said insufficient at best.
