Lessons From 2007 E-Commerce Debacles

E-commerce vendors have spent a lot of money recently advertising on social networking sites, but these investments did not generate much of a return. "It does not make a lot of sense to promote your products to a MyFace Web site focused on a person's dog. After all, the dog is not going to buy any products," said Gene Alvarez, research vice president at Gartner.

Nurun Reports Continued Growth in Q3 2007

Continuing its steady growth of the past four years, Nurun recorded revenues of $19.1 million in the third quarter of 2007, an increase of $1.9 million or 10.9% from $17.2 million in the same period of 2006. The revenue increase was essentially due to internal growth. An 11.2% rise in Canadian revenues was driven by the recruitment of new customers and increased volume from existing customers. Revenues from Europe and Asia grew by 24.1% during the quarter and accounted for 38.1% of sales. The U.S. was the only market in which projected growth levels were not achieved. Year-to-date revenues were up $8.0 million or 14.9% to $61.9 million, compared with $53.9 million in the same period of 2006.

In absolute value, Nurun's operating income was stable at $1.4 million in the third quarter of 2007, compared with the same quarter of 2006.

Williams steps up Harper attack

No chance and we'll likely see the man packing after the next election to go and foam in some U.S. think tank of his political colour. It is the land he so admires as he so holds this one in disdain.

Go Williams go! Don't undermine the power of Williams. He is revered across the country for having balls that so many in politics are lacking. Posted 14/01/08 at 12:21 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment .
