| Domino's Pizza's hot with workforce management, online sales
Two technology initiatives, one in-store and one online, have helped Domino's Pizza improve its performance and get pizzas to hungry customers quicker. The use of workforce management technology in-store has enabled the chain to shave 2.5 minutes off its average out-the-door time to 13.5 minutes, compared to January 2006. Over the last six months, Domino's Pizza has recorded a like-for-like sales increase for 404 mature stores of 14.9 per cent. Musical education has pretty much been eliminated in much of the United States, and a whole generation has come of age with little or no exposure to classical music. Most of our orchestras have been in trouble for years financially. One: Well, there's still a good deal of intellectual interest in what Michael Tilson Thomas is doing with the San Francisco Symphony and in what Esa-Pekka Salonen did -- and what newly named 26-year-old maestro Gustavo Dudamel may do -- in Los Angeles. Moreover, they play to pretty full houses (as, I would add, does the NSO; I'm not sure that I would write off the orchestral concert as a spent force). But those other conductors offer genuinely engrossing contemporary music (as opposed to Slatkin's penchant for pastiche), deeply personal takes on familiar scores of the past (rather than gross, gimmicky rearrangements such as Mahler's graffiti on Beethoven's Ninth Symphony), festivals of substance and distinction (instead of once-over-lightly looks at film music or "Drums Along the Potomac"), and a fresh energy that has been hard to find in Washington for a long while.

3rd Man Group acquires Early Warning to provide on-line fraud ...
The 3rd Man Group has acquired online credit card fraud detection company, Early Warning UK. By adding Early Warning�s CardAware database to the 3rd Man�s SuperSearch system, which enables retailers to share information on high risk transactions, the move will provide on-line traders with a powerful fraud protection service.
Established by Internet fraud victim Andrew Goodwill in 2002, Early Warning UK provides fraud-busting services to a wide cross section of online retailers, enabling them to post details of actual or attempted internet crime, as well as searching to see if others have had similar experiences. Fraudsters are subsequently exposed through a network of data sharing.
